We went to the zoo and an art museum!

So this weekend Louis was gone on a school trip and we decided to check out the Peop's Artist House Museum. It was a fun museum with a lot of different art museums, many of which the kids really appreciated (especially the toy room). We loved the small scultures of people, and especially loved the saints with the birds and animals. I wish I knew the story behind it, but they were fun to see. They had beautiful crochet, embroidery, clay dishes, and metal artwork. The kids especially loved the rooms with the miniature ferris wheels and other carnival rides that actually functioned when we spun the cranks. But even with all that my favorite thing was the floor in the house...it was a cool wood design. I would love character like that in a house I lived in.
We still had plenty of time in the day so when Kai asked if we could go to the zoo we ran with it. And when we got there it didn't dissapoint. We started witht the bird and we were excited to see baby hawks. When we first got there we had a good view but then the mama got protective so I didn't get a good picture. Moving on we enjoyed many types of monkeys. And many of the monkeys had babys as well. We also got a good view of the alligator.
On our way home we hit the biggest self service restaurant near us, Mangai. It's delicious and I try some new Nordestino dish every time we go...but I do end up eating too much.
Then we headed home for a movie night. So pretty much the best kind of Saturday...full of fun.
