Goodbyes are so hard!
Yokota Air Base has become home for us. After 3 1/2 years our kids now feel totally safe roaming the neighborhood, have friends that they love, and have grown to love so many things about Japan, the people, and the culture. The base has been a safe haven where our kids feel safe to walk to school on their own and play games outside with their friends as much as they want. We have also gotten used to being the loudest family on the trains, eating ramen and sushi (ok, the kids still don't love sushi), and heated toilet seats.
In our time here we have met so many wonderful people who have helped us, played with us, and grown with us. Here are a few highlight from our last few weeks in Japan.
Playdates with Ezra:
Playing in the snow with the Yates, we got lots right before we moved:
Hiking in Ome with the Erwins:
Onsen trips with Tara and Leigh:
Game nights, walks, playing, and being with people who have become our family.
On our last night we had a fun birthday night for Grant and Louis with the Yates, Walkers, and Erwins. It was so fun to eat pizza and hang out. The goodbyes were hard at the end. And we definately had kids falling asleep crying. We miss and love our friends and family in Yokota.
