To Grandma's (and Grandpa's) House We Go

Pace and I made a long anticipated trip to Ohio.  For me, I just wanted to spend time with my parents and brothers.  For Pace, he still had to meet Uncle Zach and Uncle Mike.  So the trip was made.  I was nervous about taking a 6 month old on an airplane trip.  How did I take a carseat on the plane?  How would Pace take naps?  All these questions.  Luckily I had seen my friend fly with her two year old a few months ago so I knew I could do it (Thanks Jeanette).  It was also my first time flying out of Fort Leonard Wood, which means a very small plane (as in 9 seats total -- including captain).

SO, our flight was bright and early in the morning (5:30 a.m).  But when we got there they were having mechanical issues.  I was sure we would be delayed till the next day because of all the cancelled flights earlier in the week, due to winter weather.  However, when I called back at 7:30 they said come in we can still get you to St Louis airport on time.  I rushed in. They had their next flight leave early so I could make my connection (there were only two other passenger besides Pace and I).  Other than that no problems the whole trip, both ways.  Cape air even cut our layover by 2 1/2 hours on the way home so we didn't have to sit around in an airport.

Ok, now on to the fun part.  Pace got to meet his Uncle Zach and Mike.  And of course everyone else liked having him around too.  Needless to say we spent the week relaxing, catching up, and of course playing games.

It was so good to see everyone!

  1. Congratulations on flying! You forgot to add I was 7 months pregnant and flying alone with an almost 2 year old, ha.
    Yay for uncles!
