Fall is Beautiful!
Fall in Japan is just lovely, and it calls for being outside as much as possible. And we tried to do just that. There are some trees that grow the must lovely looking and smelling blossoms at the beginning of fall, the Kimokusei blossoms. They are a favorite of mine. While not as beautiful as the cherry blossoms they smell so much more heavenly.
On the first Saturday in October Yokota had a festival that we checked out and we had a lot of fun. There were some fun rides, sumo suits, clowns, a magic show, and yummy food.
We decided to go visit Takahada Fudoson, a Buddhist temple near our home. We went in the summer, but on a weekday so Jake didn't get to come along. So we took Jake to see it, and it was still lovely despite the hydrangeas not being in bloom.
