Mt Imakuma and Ishikawa Sake Brewery

This year we are prepping to climb Mount Fuji. Originally the plan was to hike it and stay overnight, but Jake's work arranged a trip so we are going to try to do it in one day. So, we have a lot of prepping to do (i.e. we're hiking as often as we can). That is how we decided to hike Mt Imakauma. It's near our favorite Kongo Falls hike, and it's a short but steep hike. We needed short because we hiked after the boys baseball games. It turned out to be better than expected. While the top had a limited view, there were beautiful view points on the way up. We also saw a hord of ants in a tree trunk and there was a shrine at the bottom and top of the mountain.
For my culture group we decided to visit a local sake brewery. I wasn't super excited about it because I don't drink, but it ended up being a beautiful and interesting place. We ate a delicious pizza lunch and Jane even appreciated some of the delicious appetizers. The brewery was loaded with histoory and charm. While I didn't drink sake, I'm really glad I got to experience it.
This month we also ran our first race together as a family. We ran the Color run here on base and it was so fun. Louis and Grant just loved getting all the colors thrown at them.
And here are some other fun pictures of the family. Pace made his first layer cake.

  1. I'd love to climb Mt Fuji. You're pretty ambitious trying to do it with kiddos in backpacks. I'm in awe. Good luck!
