Yokohama: Chinatown and Cup Noodles
We have had Yokohama on our bucketlist for a long time, and really you could spend a lot of time exploring it, but we had a day and we took it. It was so fun. The Chinatown there is extensive and really cool to explore. So we spent the whole morning exploring it. We ate candied strawberries on a stick, saw cool shops, and found a very colorful temple. For lunch we tried an assortment of delicious dumplings and fried chicken. Yum!
After we walked over to the Cup Noodle museum, along the way we fond some fun elephants to climb on. The museum was all about the invention of Cup Noodles and other world changing inventions (phones, cars, airplanes, rockets). You can decide where cup noodles fit in the list of important inventions. They also had an area where you could decorate your own cup noodle container and then include the ingredients that you wanted. They had some flavors we didn't even know existed in cup noodles including cheese, zesty tomato, and fish cakes that look like duckies. We'll have to keep an eye out for them in stores. Apparently cheese curry cup noodles is a thing. The kids LOVED making their own cup noodles.
We ate the noodles the next Sunday for lunch, and the kids though they were ok, which they usually don't eat them at all, so win!
And last week we also hiked one of our favorite hikes, Kongo Falls. We went with our good friends the Walkers and Erwins.
Also the boys have been enjoying science boxes from Grandma and Grandpa Haake. They have been so fun!
And of course I am including pictures of Jane getting bigger. But also, look how sweet Kai is to comfort his brother when he is having a fit and needing some time alone in his room. Kai was comforting him just by touching fingers, what a sweetie.
