Partying in February
We love to celebrate Louis and Grant's birthdays. They are so awesome. We're so happy we have them in our family.
Louis
Louis turned 5. He's getting so smart, and he is totally ready for kindergarten. He loves playing with friends and having them over to our house. His favorite color is blue. He loves having stories read to him. He loves telling jokes. His favorite movie is Encanto (he asks to watch it pretty much every week). He can write his own name and loves when he has homework (which isn't very often).
Louis asked for a volcano birthday cake so of course I assumed he would want one similar to what I made crant a few years back with dry ice. Nope, he wanted cotton candy to be the explosion and he wanted cupcakes. What a creative guy! So I went with strawberry lava filled chocolate cupcakes with cotton candy smoke.
Grant
Grant turned 7. He can read books on his own now. He decided to learn about science rather than learn to play piano. He loves WWII history. He especially loves battleships and airplanes from WWII. He has made battleships out of blocks, magnablocks, tin foil, paper, and as a model. He also made a model of a Japanese zero. He thinks most kid movies are to "baby" for him, although he has made an exception for Encanto.
He asked for a battleship rice crispie treat for his birthday. It was the first time I sculpted with rice crispie treat, but I must say that it is much easier than doing it with cake.
Instead of doing a traditional party we decided to go and paint ceramics all together. It was a fun and creative time we all enjoyed, except maybe Jane (she got bored). Also Louis got snow for his birthday (spoiled!)
Earlier in the morning I learned how to make a decorative wall hanging from an obi (the material used around a kimono) I recieved as a gift. I honored the obi by not cutting it and only using stitches so that I would not damage it. I think is turned out lovely.
In other news Jake won another big award at work. He won 374th Company Grade Officer of the Quarter (so in easier to understant terms CGO of the quarter for the entire base). He is amazing, so proud of him. He is so amazing that he thanked me for all my support in helping him. He got me flowers and created a fun scavenger hunt for me.
And here are a few pictures just from our everyday life. Love these kiddos. I know there are a lot of Jane, but babies change so fast!
