Company Grade Officer of the Year (2021)!
Jake is so amazing and I just need to share how awesome he is at what he does. He won Company Grade Officer of the Year 2021 for the 374th Airlift Wing. He has won several awards this year with this being the culminating one this year. Unfortunately we were unable to attend the awards ceremony, but I'm so proud of him. He not only does a great job at work he's a great dad, husband, and volunteer executive secretary at church. So glad I'm married to him, I need this kind of partner in my life. He is my anchor that keeps my kite flying.
We explored the Tove Jansson Park, which was fun to explore the little houses and art. A little fairy tale park. I think it would be much prettier when the trees and grass are green, but still a fun day. And we saw a new animal, a Japanese serow. It was very cool, reminded me a bit of a mountain goat.
We also visited Showa park this month with the Erwins. I captured this cute picture.
Also this month we visited the Edo Museum in Tokyo. We caught it right before it is being closed for renovations for a few years, so glad we made it. It had some fun interactive things for the kids and lots of fun history.
On our way home we stopped at the Shinjuku station to check out the neighborhood and see Godzilla. I do love that about taking the train, it's so easy to stop at sights without having to look for parking (or deal with traffic). And I have grown much more comfortable with being the loudest people on the train, it's just a reality with our family dynamics.
And of course cute pictures from my kids doing science kits and creating things.
So after no snow last winter, we can now announce the third good snow this year. We did not let it go to waste and immediatly went out to play in it. I can't lie I enjoy it as much as the kids. This snow was definately on the wet slushy end, but still held together well enough for some good old fashioned fun. Also this just happend to be the day before we left for a tropical vacation (more on that in the next post), which made it that much more awesome.
