Sailing the Seven Seas

In March we went to the Kualoa/Hakipuʻu Canoe Festival.  It was fun to learn about Hawaiian Canoeing and the boys got to explore the Hokule'a (a canoe that they took around the world).

We try to visit new beaches all the time, but I actually recorded this one so I though I would share.  This is Lanikai Beach.  We got rained on, but we didn't mind too much because we were already wet....until it really came down.  There is nothing like swimming in the ocean with rain falling on you.  It's really fun, until its too cold.  Luckily, we buried Pace before it was raining.

Can you tell he wanted us to make him a lobster? Haha, we tried.

Because Jake's unit is awesome and gives family time, Jake gets off around 3 on Thursdays so we took advantage one week and went hiking the  'Ehukai trail.  It was a fun trail, mostly uphill, but great views of the North Shore.  And the boys did very well for being a bit hungry (meaning going up was great and a some dragging feet on the way back).  But it was so fun, dragging feet and all.  I'm just so glad they still agree to do hikes with us.

ummm, could you get a cuter hiker? I just love this guy.

Jake and I went paddle boarding for the first time ever.  We went in Haleiwa in the bay and on the river.  We loved it so much that we've convinced ourselves to buy our own boards, even though we don't know much of anything about it.  We had a huge turtle come and swim right in between our boards.  It was so AWESOME!  Plus my abs could use this workout more often.

We finally made it to the Army museum near Waikiki.  It was fun for the boys to see the tanks.

Look our pineapple plants are getting little pineapples!

Being a mom can be hard , so sometimes I love looking back through the pictures and remembering all the priceless moments that make it all worth it.
