We celebrated 2 very important birthdays last week!
Louis had his 1st birthday and was a little under the weather for it. Halfway through eating the cake he burst out crying and just needed to be cuddled until he fell asleep. Poor guy didn't get to enjoy his first piece of cake. But we are happy to announce that this 1 year old is doing much better. He is a very smiley guy. He loves books, balls, and squealing. He can clap his hands, stand on his own for a few seconds, and can climb on pretty much anything chair height. Pace is his favorite guy at the moment, but he looks up to both of his brothers and doesn't complain too much that Grant loves rubbing his head. He has more hair than any of is other brothers and it is always messy (thanks to Grant).

He loved it until he got frosting in his eyes (don't you hate that too).
Grant turned 3 and he couldn't have been more excited to have a birthday. He sang the birthday song right along with us, and anyone else who sang it to him. We kept it simple and celebrated his birthday at home, but kept tradition and let him pick out his cake design. He picked a train. Grant is an adventurer, and very independent. He loves being outside. He also loves cars, books, and tickles. And he is a pretty rough and tumble guy, but he loves goodnight kisses. He is great at cheering us up when we are grumpy. He knows his letters and is learning numbers and shapes.
Last week a carnival came to our town. So we went and enjoyed a couple of the rides.

Grant's favorite was the helicopters

Pace loved these "cars"
|
Louis kind of liked the carousel, but he loved the Ferris wheel
Then on President's Day we hiked Kuli'ou'ou Valley. Grant hiked the whole way no complaints, except when we were walking from our car to the trail. The hike was lovely, other than the fact that there were a lot of mosquitoes. Poor Pace got eaten alive.

And at the beginning of the month we went to lighthouse with Jake for his PT. And we saw our first whales this year. Makes me so thankful we can live on this beautiful island.
