Summer Lovin'

Summer has been fun, although now that we don't have seasons (noticeably at least),  it doesn't feel that different.  But we have still done more of the summer activities.

Saved the world, super hero style.

Swam at Cockroach cove.  For such an ugly name it is one of the prettiest little coves.  We went on a day there was a pretty big surf. But we still got some good jumps off the rocks.

Our rock climbers
Pace started swim lessons.

Grant wants to be out there with Pace

We hiked Kealia Trail.
Beginning of the hike

Gradually rising

Near the top, a view of the North Shore

Graffiti from the CCC, when they blasted the trail
Yes, I did not get a picture at the top, because the better views were along the trail.  We did make it though, and Grant wanted to hike on top of the ridge (at least this one was wide :)

We made snowmen ..... out of sand play dough.

We Hiked up Diamond Head.

We went out for brunch at Cinnamon's after the hike.  Yum!  Guava pancakes and eggs Benedict, with red velvet pancakes for dessert.  Thanks to everyone who suggested it to us :)

Our neighbors shared some of their apple bananas with us (only in Hawaii will I have neighbors that share bananas from their yard!)

We found a movie location for Pirates and Lost
An amazing Banyan tree

We went on the train in Ewa Beach with friends

We went to the "Biggest Little Airshow"  at Pearl Harbor.
The boys got to climb in real airplanes and helicopters.

Someone wasn't quite as interested as the other 2

Then we watched an airshow where these little planes did tricks and synchronized flights.  They were remote controlled.

We also had a dance jam with a new friend

Daddy took a day trip to the big Island and got these beautiful pictures of Oahu on the way over.

We celebrated Kamehameha Day for the first time by going to the parade

Saw Hawaiian Royalty ride by on beautifully decorated horses

Princess of Oahu

One of the boys favorites

We even found a bit of Missouri in the parade (Rolla High School followed us to Hawaii! who knew?).  So random.
Celebrated our 8th anniversary in style at The Original Roy's.  The food was amazing and they even gave us a free panna cotta dessert.

Hiked to the beautiful Maunawili Falls.  The trail was definitely harder than expected.  Plenty muddy.  Pace's shoes lost their soles.  Made for an interesting walk back, trying to convince a 3 year old he could do it.  The other 2 were already being held.  But we survived and had fun swimming in the falls at least.

The falls

A beautiful little creek along the way.

Into the Jungle

The views were awesome

A vine perfect for Tarzan
Naps are sometimes needed at the dinner table  (it happens when there are boycotts on naptime).  Trust me this is becoming a regular occurrence around here.

And of course we just hang out at home too.
Eating mochi ice cream.  Yum

A neighborhood lizard we found, we call him dino lizard because of his sail

A beautiful tree in our neighborhood

Melt my heart baby smiles

Check out that mohawk
 Here he is babbling
He can roll over both ways, he just rolled from his stomach to his back first.

Our sea turtle cookies, thanks Ranger Rick

One of my favorite pictures of all time
Our Father's Day gift
Grant loves letters.  He didn't get that from me.

Oh yeah, and not to brag or anything, but we successfully flew a kite!  Parent win!  (this never happens for me).  We even let all the string out.

I am looking forward to the rest of our summer.
