This, that and the Other Event

Because Jake opted to celebrate my birthday with me rather than go to a hail and farewell ceremony (a welcoming and goodbye party in the army), he was hailed into his unit in April.  They decided to have it at an outdoor cafe at Turtle Bay.  The boys loved that it was outside so they could run around during the adult talk.  They even made a few friends with the other kids.

Pace wanted to take a picture and this is what he captured, couldn't have done better myself
After we went swimming at the cove there.  It was our first time.  We loved it though.  There was a resting monk seal on the beach and plenty of tide pools to check out.  Not to mention the cove is a little more protected so the boys actually felt comfortable going in the water.

Shortly thereafter Jake went back to the big island to scout out a location for a future project for work.

Out in the lava fields
For Easter we enjoyed the Easter egg hunt at church and dyed some Easter eggs.  Both boys loved the hunt.  Grant didn't realize there was candy in the eggs until after.

An extra Easter picture of Louis, because I absolutely love this one.  Sleeping baby pictures are the best.

Dad brought home a toy one of his coworkers gave him.  It was a hit with the boys after we put it together.

We got the ping pong table cleared off finally (yes we are finally feeling moved in).  So we are teaching the boys to play ping pong as well.

We love reading books around here.  I can honestly say I read at least 10 books a day around here, if not more (the fact that they're children books doesn't make it less impressive does it?).  But Pace loves to memorize the short ones and read them to us.  Grant will even read us a book or two.  I captured Grant's reading of No David because it is just too cute and funny.

This picture melts my heart
Louis has been smiling a lot more so I have finally been able to capture a few good ones.

Okay, okay you got me this one is more of a sad face, but it is so cute.

And an actual frown
We went to the Bishop Museum during the Grow Hawaiian Festival.  The Boys loved it and we hardly scratched the surface of the exhibits.  We will definitely be going back.
Grant is missing in action

We also went to the Wahiawa Pineapple Festival.  We loved the parade and the $2 pineapple for sale.
Waiting for the parade to start

We met Bert at the festival

And rode in a helicopter
We went back to Waimea Valley; this time we took Jake along and took a swim in the falls.

A cute little pig we found along the way

The falls

Grant was a little more brave and let Jake take him all the way up

I was able to go on a dinner cruise with the spouses's club for Jake's unit.  It was a lot of fun.

Other than that we are having fun hanging around home.  It doesn't hurt that we live in paradise.
Brotherly love

Mowing our weed garden
A beautiful moon

Love the view from our road

We had fun making lego animals.  Can you guess what they are? (answers:bunny, flamingo, moose, horse, and walrus)
