Our time at BYU has come to an end. Jake finished his undergraduate degree in construction management, with minors in millitary science and business management (Yeah, he's a smart one... three degrees in one). I finished with my masters in chemical engineering (we'll I've been done for a few weeks, but now it is official). Both Jake's and my parents, a few of Jake's siblings came, and my Oma and Opa (grandparents) came. It really felt amazing to finish up and I am so glad we walked.
The comment ceremony was HUGE. It never ceases to amaze me how many people graduate each year from BYU. Its awesome, all of us going forth to serve. There were almost 6000 graduates total. I forget how many Masters students, but there were quite a few. Unfortunately, my name was not in the program because my actual transcript says I graduated in June (due to the unusually early deadlines for defending your thesis to qualify for April graduation). But, hopefully my sister-in-law will be able to go retrieve a August program for me. However, Jake's name was happily included in the program. Jake even got a shout out from Cecil during the university commencement for being one of the 15 Cadets that commissioned in the Army. Dallin H. Oaks was the speaker, and I was impressed by his advice and hope I put it into action. Jake and I neglected to take any pictures at the commencement, because of the shuffle between families game.
I convinced Jake to come walk in my college (since I was the one getting the masters). It made it a lot more fun to be walking together. And Jake can brag that he was one of the few husbands walking with their wife in the engineering convocation. We got a few pictures with our own camera so here they are for your viewing pleasure.
Awesome job Liz!!!
