I am defending my thesis on April 3 at 2 pm. I am extremely nervous, but at the same time I can't wait till it is here and I am done. I have a lot of presentation practice coming up this next weekend. I'm afraid Jake will be sick of hearing it, so he will probably be glad he has an ROTC training this next weekend.
Jake convinced me to run the Rex Lee Run 5k. I decided it would be good way to show myself that the exercise I've been doing this year was doing some good. I have been going with Jake to PT. Not working out with them, but doing my own running/weights. I am still no athlete, but I am happy that I've been keeping it up. Jake stayed with me the whole race, even though he is much faster than me. I though it was pretty sweet. Our goal was to run it in 27 minutes, but unfortunately we didn't get it. But luckily we got it in 27 minutes and 6 seconds, so I wasn't too sad. We actually finished within a second after another girl in my ward, and I got 4th in my age group (which was a huge surprise and I only found out the day after). Anyways it gives me motivation to keep up the exercising.
Lastly, I have a question for all of you out there. Would you keep a poisonous plant as a house plant? There is an African milk tree that our office, inherited from the previous owner. I've been taking care of it without really knowing what it was. I've been thinking of taking a cutting with us and keeping it as a house plant. But since it is poisonous I am having second thoughts. Jake is not really thrilled with the idea, but I don't think he would mind if I did get a cutting. Its a pretty unique plant. So let me know what you would do.
I like plants, and right now mine are all out of reach of Baby Girl even though they're not poisonous. I'd be tempted to get a cutting, but I'd be really careful with it. Keep it high, away from any neighbors, friends, or future babies. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, good luck on April 3! About a week left!
