Jake went to Reno a couple weeks ago and competed on a competition team. They worked really hard. All the heard work happened over a two day period. They got their project early Wednesday morning and worked all the way until 10 pm working on it. Then they stayed up most of the night working on their presentation. Anyways, the project was where they had to design, schedule, and estimate the entire construction and building of it. Jake was one of the team estimators. Anyways, they did really good, although they didn't place. One guy kept admiring how cool their model of the building was. So I am really proud of him. And Jake got to meet a lot of companies and show off his estimating skills (even though he won't be looking for a job for at least another 4 years).
While he was gone I wrote and wrote and wrote. I am finally happy to say that I am almost done with the first draft of my thesis (should be done in a week or so). Then I just have to get it through all my commitee. This means that I should be defending in the beginning of April (hopefully the first week). Anyways I feel like it is so close I can taste it. Can't wait.
Other fun things that have been keeping us busy. Jake finally convinced me to be on an intramural soccer team. And it has turned out to be pretty fun (even though I may be the weak link on the team). I have included a picture of our team. Don't we look like one rough and tough team? It is made up of ROTC people and friends. Its great. Everyone on our team is a blast.
For valentine's day Jake and I decided to keep it simple, but a lot of fun. We exchanged chocolates and Jake even wrote me a little poem and got me a bouquet of bright colorful daisies (my favorite). We went out on a date night the night before (to avoid the crowds). We went to Red Lobster. We both got some lobster and shrimp (different types). Seafood is my favorite, so I was happy.
Lastly, but probably the most important, is that Jake's orders have changed. His start date is now June 4 instead of April 30th. I'm happy about that. A little time to breath and relax after graduation never hurt anyone. And we can go on a few wanted camping trips before we say farewell to the beautiful landscapes of Utah.

And June 4th means if we come down, you should definitely be there! Kyler and I need to decide/finalize everything. So, your thoughts? Should we come to Utah the last week or so in April?
