Is it fall here?
As we still feel like seasons are almost unoticeable here my kids like to ask about the seasons. The other day as we were looking at all the sprin decorations for Easter, Louis asked. Mom, is it fall here? The answer is yes, although it still feels completely summer here...and it made me a bit nostalgic for those cool spring days with flowers just beginning to bloom. But hey, at least we have flowers and beautiful weather for those beach days. So here's a blog about whet we have been up to here this fall.
Kai had a visit from Elmer the Elephant. He got to come and stay with us for a weekend. He joined us to build things, eat waffles, and read stories. Kai kept a journal about it and got to share with his class.
Grant has been designing stairways and other amazing creations. I know we counted the stairs, but I forget the number, something like 53 stairs. So excited to see what he creates as he gets older.
I finished my 2000 piece puzzle of Notre Dame. Time to move on to my new 2000 piece puzzle of Igazu Falls. I love having a bedroom nook to keep my puzzles in so I can work on them slowly and use it as a place for me to relax.
II tried siguella fruit, everyone else was too scared. Very yummy, but has a really large pit that makes it hard to eat.
Jane all of a sudden got iinto painting her nails...with markers. So, I gave in and bought some nail polish after years of not owning any. And Jane and I did match figernails. It was really fun to do it with her, even if they chipped for me hours after I had painted them. We also did a make-up day...and we look fancy. Check us out!
Jake went to the states and got to see the new Brazil Friendship Memorial the put up in a base in San Antonio. Also, crazy enough it also has the tower that Geronimo succesfully jumped out of andsurvived. So the next time you yell Geronimo as you jump, you can picture this tower in your head.
The missionaries came over and had an icecream night with us. So much fun!
We finally found a place to buy good strawberries and blueberries. So we celebrated by making pancake faces.
We saw an iguana on our way to tennis classes! So cool!
We had many sick days...a horrible stomach bug hit us one at a time. Here are a few sick and tired kids who could sleep anywhere. They're so sweet and it's hard to see them sad when they are sick.
We saw some cool birds. A hummingbird was just chilling on the electric line. And I really cannot get enough of our resident burrowing owls. After a year of seeing them often they still brighten my day.
Jane has had some fun days at school. She has had healthy fruit days, where they eat and do crafts with healthy fruits. Then Jane had a circus day at school and then we went to a circus as a family.
This has been a busy month. Hard, good and blessed. I'm thankful for even the hard parts, because I felt so much love from the Lord and from people around me. So grateful for the community we are a part of here.
