Happy Easter
So I have never really celebrated Easter in a big way. Just simply. But this year our prophet and apostles have asked us to focus on Christ and celebrate Him. It has been such a great Easter week. We still did the fun things like Easter egg hunts and bunnies. But we added some fun things, that I hope become traditions for us. We did Holy Week journals, where we talked about the events of holy week each day and then recorded in our journals. The journals included coloring pages and different challenges to share Christ's love. We had some really great moments where prayers were answered as we carried out some of the challenges. It was so fun to do service as a family. We also read about the atonement and resurrection on Easter sunday, which all the kids participated in the readings. Usually this is a bit caotic in our house, but on Easter there was such a great peace as Pace and Grant took turns erading the scriptures. It was powerful. At school the kids also had easter celebrations. Jane came home with an Easter headband and more.
Also, another significant moment on our Easter weekend was witnessing a sea turtle hatching. As we were watching those little guys race to the ocean Kai was cheering them on and making engine sounds for them. The whole time watching it I just kept thinking how life is a little bit like that. We have a journey ahead of us, but we've got the Savior there cheering us on. Even better, he gives us strength and power as we go through the challenges and we become better through them. Even when we mess up and go the wrong direction, he gently guides us to where we need to be.
Louis also recieved his baptism pillow from Grandma Monson and it was so sweet to see him proudly hold it up. Easter week was such a great time to remember his baptism.
Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter as well. Christ is risen! And because of him we will as well!
