Meeting Thomas Edison and Sao Joao in October
The beginning of October has been so eventful and fun. Pace's class put on a wax museum and Pace was Thomas Edison. He not only did a great job of bring him to life, but successfully did it in Portuguese. He was very convincing and he performed his act for all the museum visitors. While Thomas Edison was our favorite, we also loved seeing Heitor as Elvis, Nicole as Cleopatra, Heitor as Alexander Graham Bell, and all the other great performances.
Also after 9ish months without our stuff, we finally got our HHG(house hold goods) shipment. It was a crazy week of trying to arrange our stuff to fit in this apartment. It was pretty crazy seeing our main living area totally taken over boxes. But after lots of arranging, and help from our dear cleaner, Marise (she was the rockstar organizer...she tackled the older boys room and made it beautiful) our house finally feels truly like our space. We did spend a few days with funny sleeping eating arrangements, but it was totally worth it.
And now we are loving our bunk beds, toys and couches again.
With all this excitement Jane we have been finding Jane sleeping in very interesting positions. This girl has been playing hard.
One of the days the kids had off I took the kids to the beach and during the walk we ran into a true hotwheels car.
School pickup is something Jane and I get to do most days. I've been so lucky to have this character as my partner. She makes the elevator rides and walks more exciting. She really loved when Kai had his paint day too. Kai loved the paint day, but not so much the shower after.
Jake's work Sao Joao party got cancelled earlier in June, but they rescheduled it for October. And we had a hoot. The food and music was great. They had games for the kids, and then at the end we watched a dance group perform traditional dances. It was beautiful. But even better is at the end they invited the crowd to come join in the traditional dances. Jake and I danced in the outer circle, while the kids danced in the kids circle in the middle. I think we all just loved it. I think it might be one of my favorite experiences here so far. We laughed and danced for quite a while before we headed home tired.
We also went to Rock and Ribs with friends from church. And we finally were able to take pictures with Monica and her friends.
So glad to have our stuff and been able to make these memories.
