Back to School!
We're starting a new school year and I am so proud of how these kids just jump right in. On the first day of school they were ready about 30 minutes early because the were so excited (despite Grant saying that it would probably be boring). Grant has not complained again the rest of this week. And I am pretty proud of how responsible these kiddos have been about walking themselves to and from school ( I do still walk with Kai). The days this week have left all of us a bit more tired by the end of the day. It always amazes me how much of a transition going back to school is even for me (so much more toddler playtime). And I have just loved the moments that I have been able to jump on the trampoline and take Kai and Jane to the park (their two favorite pastimes).
Kai, Jane and I also went on an outing with some friends. We saw some rice paddy art, lotus fields, and explored the grounds Oshi Castle. I think the kids favorite parts were playing with friends, the lotus leaf fountain, and the Koi fish in the castle moat. My favorite part was the lotus flowers and driving through so many rice fields...there were som fields all ready to harvest. It was beautiful.
one of the highlights this week is the backhoe Kai and I have to check out everyday on our walk home from school.
At lunch one day we all had fun making apple faces.
Anyway we're killing this back to school transition and pretty soon it will fit us like an old familiar shoe.
