April Flowers, Easter, and Jake coming home!
Spring weather is my favorite, so in April we stayed outside as much as possible. And my kids bring me all the flowers they could find, just melted my heart.
We had a pizza cookout with our friends the Zamarippas. They have these amazing pizza ovens and we had some yummy pizza and fun park time.
We also had our traditional cinnamon roll breakfast as we listened to inspirational messages of general conference.
I visited Torii Kannon, a mountain temple with my culture club. The spring colors were amazing, and the rainy weather actually provided some cool misty views.
For Easter this year we dyed eggs and had a yummy dinner with the Walkers and Erwins. So while we missed Jake, cousins, and grandmarents for the holiday we still felt like we were with family.
Much to the delight of all the boys (but especially Pace) we went to a Seibu Lions baseball game with friends.
We also went fishing in our local swimming pool. Yes, you heard that right. They stocked our swimming pool with trout, and while that sounds like an easy catch we still somehow didn't ,manage to catch any fish. The weather was wet, so we decided to stop fishing after a few hours dispite our lack of a fish. We did have fun fishing though, I just need to take some fishing lessons or something because my skills could use some work.
And then Jake got home! We were so glad to have him back. We missed him so much while he was gone and we're so thankful for everything that he does for us. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of our reunion (I was too happy just to hug him and see our kids reactions....4 months is a long time.
Jake decided to give me a break so I took a girl's day out in Kawagoe with Tara and Erica. (And then in the coming weeks I did a few more adventures on my own, just to get some time to myself) We shopped at a shrine sale, visited a footbath and drank fancy drinks, got dressed up in Turkish clothes, ate yummy kebabs, and found delicious sweet potatoe treats (like sweet potatoe cream brule).
And of course we wrestled, decorated pancakes, and played around with friends for fun.
