Birthday Boys and Backstreet Boys

February was a super eventful month for us. When I got back from my Sapporo trip we were in full birthday mode. Louis turned 6 and Grant turned 8.
Louis is a loud, confident and passionate kid. He has a big heart and befriends everyone. He loves pokemon, spiderman, and playing with friends. He enjoys baths, and is always the last kid playing in the tub. He also prefers wearing his shirts backwards sometimes, and sometimes even his pants (and gets frustrated if I ask him to switch them around). He loves playing board games and even plays them by himself sometimes. Grant loves Top Gun, and calls most animated movies baby movies (we have to convince him to watch animated movies sometimes). He also loves pokemon, volcanoes, science experiments, and playing with his friends. He tells funny jokes and is such a good big brother to Jane. Louis specifically asked for a rock candy birthday cake, so I learned how to make rock candy and we tried it for the first time (and probably last time) ever. It was fun to make, but it felt like a big waste of sugar...and then the kids didn't really eat it, they only ate the cake. But it was all worth it for this 6 year old smile.
We had friends over and watched Jurassic Park with friends. Then two days later we invited those friends back over for a movie and cake again. This time for a Top Gun themed birthday party. This 8 year old is obsessed with Top Gun at the moment (as are all my other kids).
In between the birthday festivities I went to a Backstreet Boys Concert with Tara and her girls. Yes it was a blast from my past. That was my first CD and probably first celebrity crush. I listened to all the songs so many times that I still can sing along to any of their originals. So yes I enjoyed this concert a lot. Tara even made me a sweet t-shirt.
Here's some other pictures from our everyday life that are too cute to leave out.
