13 Years and Counting

Jake and I recently celebrated our 13th anniversary. I love our marriage how it feels like we are still kids in love, and yet we somehow are maintaining a household of 5 kids and a dog. I'm proud of everything we've done together and I look forward to see where our choices will lead us in the future. So many adventures to be had.
To celebrate we went to a wonderful sushi place for our aniversary, Mori sushi. We tried a lot of new things, most of which was absolutely wonderful. We had a little trouble with the uni sushi (sea urchin), but enjoyed pretty much everything else. This included small squid ina delicious sauce, delicious sashimi, a couple vegetable dishes, a sushi platter, the most delicious egg dish ever, and a dessert. So fun to have a night to just talk and reminisce about all our favorite moments and some of the challengers we've overcome together.
We're also at the beginning of summer break. On our first week out of school we went and checked out a beautiful pagoda and hydrangea garden with our good friends the Erwins.
We also hiked Mt Takao with our good friends the Walkers (it was our second time up, but the first time we actually hiked all the way up).
We also explored Tokyo Tower and the temple near it. Then we wandered Shibuya with the Walkers. We found the Hachiko statue, the dog who inspired the movie Hachi. We went to the Kit Kat store and crossed the crazy Shibuya crossing.
And here are a few other fun moments.

  1. Happy Anniversary! I was thinking of you guys when all the photos showed up on my Facebook memories. So glad I could be there then, and wish I could see you now.
