After spending a wonderful week with the Haake family We drove to Pennsylvania to see Jake's family. It was a full house, 30 people! 17 grandkids (including 4 babies!!!). We stayed in a house in Amish country and had a lot of fun being with everyone and enjoying the country (It's been a while since I have seen open fields like that, except for in Ohio). It was definitely much different than Tokyo.

While we were in PA we did some fun activities including kickball, going to see Christmas lights at Longwood Gardens, visiting Independence Hall and the Revolutionary War Museum in Philadelphia, ate a Smorgasbord breakfast (Shady Maple Smorgasbord), went shopping, and just played games and enjoyed being together. Yes there were lots of meltdowns, but it was worth it to get everyone together and my kids constantly talk about going back to Ohio and Philadelphia.

On our way out to the reunion we stopped by our friend's house. The Olivers were some of our really good friends from while we were living in Hawaii. We were so glad our path's crossed again and we could spend some time together. The kids played together like they hadn't been apart for a year and a half.
