Tokyo Skytree and Senso-Ji

Grant has been dreaming of going to either Tokyo Tower or Skytree.  As a family we decided to take the train to see Tokyo Skytree.  It was our first adventure by train to downtown Tokyo as a whole family.  The train ride itself was quite the adventure.  Our loud family sort of stands out like a sore thumb no matter our best efforts, but we didn't mind too much.  The Skytree was a lot of fun and gave us a good view of Tokyo.

After we ate lunch in the food court in the mall at the bottom and found a really yummy banana dessert shop for a treat.  Most of the boys got banana ice cream, but they had frozen bananas and banana cake as well.

Then we walked over to Senso-Ji.  The walk itself had plenty of fun highlights: a boat shaped building, the golden poop building (Pace and Grant knew this nick name for the Asahi Beer Hall from their Tokyo guide book), and some statures perched in the buildings.

This is the gate of Senso-Ji.

The grounds had beautiful koi

It was a pretty quiet day that we were able to visit.  I imagine this place gets pretty bustling sometimes.
