It's Fall Y'all

That's right the leaves are changing here and it's beautiful.  After not having a fall for the last few years it's fun to experience it again.  And there are some really beautiful fall colors near us.  One of my favorite experiences was going to the fall illumination at Show Kinen Park (again I love this park).  They lit up the colorful leaves at night so they really stood out against the night sky.  We also ran into our neighbor who just happens to be a photographer and we got a few really amazing pictures!

We also participated in leaf raking...what a pleasure.

And of course we went on fall hikes.  Two beautiful waterfall hikes.

Hossawa Falls is a short hike, with a series of waterfalls.  The last was the most spectacular.  I believe Japan may be in competition with Hawaii for beautiful waterfalls.

Beautiful fall colors in the area

Kongo Falls, was a much longer hike with a lot of stairs, but we had it all to ourselves.  It was just as spectacular as Hossawa falls with a tunnel, rice patties, and a park extra to boot.  This was probably my favorite hike so far.

Love love love this picture

We found this hidden near the falls

The boys also decided to act out Three Billy Goats Gruff, since we have been reading this story a lot lately.

In other news, Kai has become a champion at hugging.  He makes us all feel special.

And look at this beautiful fall scene.

How can there be this many flowers on a tree in November, when most of the leaves are gone?!

  1. Oh my goodness! Those pictures of the leaves are gorgeous! So cool that they light them up like that. I love how much you are seeing and experiencing. It all sounds amazing, and hopefully you get to experience Tokyo soon!
