On our flight to Tokyo we had a layover in Seattle, and then it was going to be on to Japan. However when we got there we found out our flight had been delayed to 4 days later. It was stressful the first night, because we arrived in Seattle at about 2 am in the morning. But after we found a hotel we realized that we had been blessed with an unexpected paid for vacation to Seattle.
On the first day we hung out at the lake that was next door to our hotel. We also found an El Salvadorian restaurant...which only means one thing for us Papusas! Yum! We ate them on our hotel's roof with beautiful views of Mt. Ranier.
The second day we went and checked out the Seattle Aquarium, rode the ferris wheel there, tried The Crab Pot for lunch, and checked out Pike's place market. We found these chocolate covered cherries that were divine.
Our last day we checked out the Chinatown in Seattle. We found a delicious dumpling place for lunch and enjoyed all the little parks. Also, they had a gold rush museum, but unfortunately it was closed due to COVID. We checked out some of the totem poles around the city instead. We were also surprised how many stores in the area were boarded up because of the looting earlier. It was a beautiful area, and we were sad to see so much damage.
