This picture just cracks me up so much. I'm not sure why this was so fun, but they made it fun. It's good to be more kid-like sometime and find joy in the small things....isn't that the best kind of joy? Some of the other simple joys we have at our house:
Breakfast in bed
Learning to sit up on your own
Nap time
Baby smiles and new outfitsBlack Sheep cookies and cream ice cream
Hugs
Grocery bags after shopping (don't worry we supervised for safety)
Arts and crafts
Dog food to play with
So many fun things in life.
Also, Hawaii beaches are back open which has been a huge blessing. Swimming out in the ocean makes me feel free and I know the kids love the sand. We have been to the last 3 weekends in a row and it has done my heart so much good.
We also accomplished some big goals of ours:
Successfully completed school for the year
Jake and I did 1/2 marathons (thanks to the Oliver's support)
Jake completed a very intricate model of a bulldozer (with decals he designed himself) and it looks great.
And of course you can't keep us Monsons off the trail. We hiked on Waimano Loop Trail (just the small loop with the tunnels) and Pauoa Flats (Thanks to the Sons for their recommendation, it was an amazing hike!).
