Crystal Came to Play

We have been so happy to have Crystal visiting with us for the rest of January.  She has brightened our life for a few weeks.  Of course we didn't mind the help with the boys, the extra playtime, and a free babysitter for date nights.  But Crystal really helped remind me that I can make time for myself.  Funny how having a baby can make you forget that.  She came and cooked, baked, played and hiked with us.  The boys love her so much!


Also, because both her birthday and mine are in January we got to celebrate both in the same week.  You may have heard of double weddings, but we got to celebrate double birthdays.  We celebrated both in the same week...so we had a lot of cake (but who's complaining about that).

We had quite a bit of rain while she was here but we still managed at least two beach days, a lot of park trips, a family hike, a crazy hike, and lots of yummy food.

 Our crazy hike.  We were planning to hike to the stairway to heaven from Moanalua Park, but somehow followed the wrong trail.  However we did make it to the ridge line just above the tunnel for H3.  It was a little bit scary because it was raining a bit and the ridge was steep and narrow.  But we did it.  Also because of the rain we had 66 river crossings (33 each way).  Needless to say by the end we were tromping through without a worry for our feet because they were already so wet.

And before Crystal left we made it to Bellows Beach...of course a favorite.  Somehow I only have pictures with this guy in them.  But who doesn't want to see this little beach bum.
