Off to School

As Pace is now 5 he is old enough to start school!  I am a bit sad as my biggest helper is now taking off for over half the day.  It also makes it a lot harder for me to enjoy one on one time with him.  I will have to work out how to fit more of that into my schedule, because I am missing it a bit.

Pace started on Aug 6, 2018.  Wow, they start early in the summer here in Hawaii, but it seems there are plenty of breaks and days off in the schedule.  And Pace couldn't have been more excited to go to a new school.

He definitely enjoys lunch and recess the most.  Whenever we ask about his day we get a rundown of what was for lunch and what playground they played on at recess.  But can we really blame him.  Food and fun is the best.  And he seems to like everything else about it too.

So while he is gone to school, I get to hang out with the other two a bit more.  I do love the one on one time with Grant that I hardly ever had before, because his older brother isn't around to play with.

Walking Penny in the morning.  Louis really rides in style.  He keeps us cool.

Of course these guys still keep me busy, but they try to help out too.

This month we also headed to the Honolulu Zoo for the first time!  It iook us long enough to get there.  And our kids were over the moon. All three were loving all the animals and we had a blast.
I don'r know what kind of bird this is, but it is beautiful.

This was a favorite stop.  The baboons came right up to us.

We also loved the Spider monkeys climbing about.

We still make it to the park all together.

So August has been a great month for us.  Pace reached a huge milestone starting kindergarten.  The boys are learning to be their own characters.  I think Grant has grown a lot too through this change as he has had more opportunities to decide what to play.  He is the big brother while Pace is gone.
I love rainbows and I love how many we see here.  I always like to keep track of how many days in a row that I've seen rainbows.
