We've been in our house for over 3 years, but there is still so much around us we haven't really explored. So this month we finally went to go see bald eagles on the Mississippi and we explored the woods right behind our house (I know, I know we should have done that a couple years back). Also, it is fun to see my little guys becoming best friends. This video melts my heart, despite the hair pulling.
Our weather has been yo-yoing around here so we have been able to do all kinds of outdoor activities. At the beginning of the month we actually got enough snow to play in. Pace made his first snowman, with a little help. And we went sledding.

Later it stayed cold, but we still ventured out to the Mississippi. We saw 4 bald eagles in the trees and we also got to see them close up because they were doing a bird show. Pace was a little nervous being so close, but he let us take his picture with he eagle. They also had Lewis and Clark reenacters there, which was fun and entertaining for us all. Who knew that Sacajawea used a rattle snake rattle to help her with childbirth? Apparently it worked. Maybe next time I have a rough labor I'll try that. Later that day Jake took us to a USACE lock and dam on the Mississippi. We got to tour the facility and even saw a small barge go through one of the locks.

We also celebrated my birthday. Jake made me stuffed shells for dinner and a chocolate blackout cake for dinner. Pace kept saying, "My birthday cake." I just let him think it was his birthday. Thanks to everyone for all the gifts and well wishes. It was a great birthday for me.
Other than that we have been hanging around the house playing while Jake has been very busy with school. We have forgotten what it is like to have homework. But these boys are keeping it fun. We've ridden bikes, explored the backyard, cooked, and much more.
