Spring into Summer

It has been a while since I have updated, so sorry for the picture overload, but I like to keep these memories for myself as well.  A few highlights since Easter are that my brother came to visit while he was moving out to Nevada for his new job.  We went hiking and played games with him.  It was a fun weekend.

We also had a weekend in St Louis.  We went to the zoo.  Pace loved it so much more this time (since he was old enough to notice most of the animals).  Jake and I got to go to the temple (thank you to the our good friends Aleks and Jared for watching the boys).  We stayed at a hotel (Paces first time), and he loved it.  The boys slept soooo well, but it could be due to the fact that we wore them out.  We went to the Magic House (which is St. Louis's children's museum).  Pace loved the grocery store section and the huge sandbox the most.  Then we went to Fitz's Bottling company to get lunch and bottomless mugs of yummy soda.  They were also bottling soda so we could check out their assembly line.  It was a lot of fun.  So glad we got to explore more of St. Louis.

We got a great view of the hyena

The new penguin exhibit is awesome!

Puffins!

If you look close you can see one of Pace's favorite animal of the day: a South American bear.

So now that we have those highlights out there, I'll fill you in on the boys.  We have spent a lot of outside time together now that the weather is so nice and it stays light for so long.  Our favorite evening activity is going down to the playground.  We do it just about every evening.   I still love seeing the boys together, so here are some I caught on camera.

Brotherly bonding
Hugs!  Not sure Grant is actually enjoying this, but Pace means well.
Roll out!

Pace loves tag (or at least the running part, not sure if he gets the whole concept of it yet).  He also is brave enough to go down the slide like a big kid (not backwards), but is still afraid of swings.  He will "swing" by pushing an empty swing and saying "weeeee".  He pats every baby on the back and has even started doing it to Jake and I (guess he wants to make sure we got all our burps out).  And he still helps out wherever he can:  throwing away diapers, cooking, yard work, and so on.  In fact I was playing in his room with him and he started picking up his barrel of monkeys singing "mean up, mean up"  to the tune of "Clean up, clean up everybody everywhere".  Which brings me to another point.  He is starting to say words!   His favorites: bubble, ball, choochoo (as in train), tickle (as he is tickling Grant's tummy), and mommy (that one makes me feel good).  He is such a smiley, giggly, happy guy.

Our favorite toddler!
Grant is a growing man!  Seriously, compared to Pace this guy is big.  But he is oh so lovable.  He is smiling all the time now (just haven't got it on our camera, just on my phone).  He can hold onto toys now.  But especially loves blankets.  He also likes to talk, just like his older brother.  His coos are so cute!
