When You're Helping You're Happy

Pace has taken up a new pastime of helping with the household chores.  It is usually great, and I hope he continues on enjoying it in his future.  We love trying to get him to help.  Here is a list of his absolute favorite chores:
Sweeping
Vacuuming
Unloading the dishwasher
Getting out and putting away cooking ingredients
Throwing trash (especially his own diapers) in the garbage can
Of course it means that the chores end up taking double the time, but it is worth it to see his smile when he knows he is helping.  Due to my forgetfulness, I have failed to capture these frequent occurences.  But here is one video of him swifferring.

On a side note, we had a great Thanksgiving with a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Monson and Aunt Crystal.  We also had a family in our neighborhood join us for the day.  I failed with the camera again.  But we enjoyed all the classics.  This year I was only in charge of the turkey and dressing.  Somehow, the turkey was 2 hours late (opposite of it being 2 hours early last year).  One day I will be a master of turkey roasting.  Unfortunately I need more practice.  Although at least the turkey was delicious and so were everyone's sides.  MMMmmm.  We just finished the last of the dressing, gravy, yams and apples, and pumpkin pie.  Sad day.   Tomorrow I am making a turkey pot pie to finish all the Thanksgiving left overs off.  By the way, turkey sandwiches with Dijon mustard and cranberry sauce are so good.  My mouth is watering just typing this.
Pace likes to put blankets on his head (usually to play peek-a-boo), but this time he just felt like having it on for coloring.  I thought I'd take a picture.
We also picked out an amazing Christmas tree on Saturday.  It is shaped so perfectly it almost looks fake, but don't let it fool you.  It is real.  Also, we have found that the bottom couple feet remain undecorated, because Pace loves to pull off the decorations.  We have lights on the tree as well, I just don't have them lit up in the picture.

While we were picking out a tree at Lowes I realized they give the branches they cut off from other people's trees for free.  I am not really that crafty, but I decided to make a little arrangement.  Not to toot my own horn, but I think it turned out pretty good :)  But you can decide for yourself.

  1. Pace using the swifer is adorable. I loved him trying to clean the ball. And your pine arrangement looks fantastic! Way to be crafty.
