October in a Pumpkin-shell

So, because I have gotten so behind on updating our blog and it has been such a fun month for us, I thought that I would do a summary.  So, you can pick and choose what you are interested in catching up on.

Storie's Pumpkin Patch

We figured it is such a popular thing to take kids to a pumpkin patch, we just had to try it out.  It didn't disappoint.  We had a blast.  Climbing through obstacles, playing with animals, a tractor ride, and of course picking out pumpkins.

Jake's Birthday

This man had his last birthday in his 20ies.  We have started a tradition of trying new, from-scratch cakes on our birthdays.  So this year he decided on a maple walnut.  It was yummy, but at times it reminded you of eating really good waffles, because of the maple flavor.  He even blew out all his candles in one blow (with Pace's help).  But I guess I didn't capture that moment on camera, so you'll just have to imagine.

Grandma and Grandpa Haake's Visit

Pace loved having more people in the house.  He got to play all day, until he crashed because he was so tired.  He especially had fun dancing with them.  The only part he didn't like was seeing them in their motorcycle helmets.  I didn't get many pictures of my parents visit.  But Jake got a day off and we went for a hike to Cliffty Creek with them, so we have some pictures from that adventure.

Pace loves the outdoors.  He had a blast.

Halloween Fun
We carved our pumpkins (even though one of them was getting a little rotten before Halloween), and I think they turned out pretty good.  Jake did the more intricate one of Frankenstein.  It was definitely the favorite at the trunk or treat parties we went to.  Pace was a bunny. and loved it.  Especially eating the candy and being with the other kids (but especially the candy).
