A Sleeping Monkey and A Golden Spatula

So, since moving here to Missouri we found the best way to enjoy passing out candy.  We get out our trusty fire pan and have a fire in our driveway.  We get to really enjoy all the cute, scary, and funny costumes while doing something we love.  This time Pace joined us as a baby monkey.  Cute as can be, but unfortunately I didn't get a picture until he had already fallen asleep and I moved him inside.  But here he is:
Also, we love how festive our neighborhood was this year.  Almost every house was decorated.  There were several fun pumpkin patches, graveyards, spider webs and haunted trees.  One house even had a smoke machine.  It was great fun. We are looking forward to see the Christmas decor.

On Sunday we used our artistic talents to carve a fun pumpkin.  We thought it turned out cute, but even cuter was our little pumpkin.  But you can be the judge and tell me which you prefer.

Penny was a pumpkin again.

Our church Halloween party had a chilli cook off.  This year Jake and I were prepared.  We bought a new pot just for the occasion and made the recipe early to make sure we knew all the tweaks we wanted to make it.  Well, we are very proud to say that out of 17 chillies, we took the first place and won the golden spatula! Yay!

Also, we had lots of great outfits that could be costumes and we couldn't decide which we liked best.  Here is Pace, the French man.  My parents got this outfit in Marseilles this summer.

Overall our Halloween couldn't have been better :)

  1. I love Pace in the chili pot, actually he's cute in all the pictures. I had no idea you guys were so serious about your chili. You'll have to pass along the recipe.
