Back Online

So, about a month and a half ago Jake and I got a letter in the mail telling us that they were going to renovate our house.  They told us we had to move and they were offereing us a brand new duplex here on post.  At first we were very hesitant about it.  We loved our house, our neighbors, and our church ward.  Even though we were only moving 10 minutes away we did have to switch wards, which was sad for us.  But the house they were offering was great and we weren't sure any other option would be viable for us.  So we decided to go with it.

When Jake went in for all the details they told us we only had five days to move (AHHH!).  Also, it was my birthday that week.  Yeah, we had to do it in a rush and I was pregnant to boot so I wasn't much help.  Luckily Jake got some friends together to help us move and it just happened to be Martin Luther King Weekend, so we celebrated it by moving on Martin Luther King Day.  It went fairly smooth, except Jake and I left ourselves a lot of little things to take over ourselves.  With the cleaning and everything we didn't get done till late.  We were exhausted.  But we made it.

Our new house is a bit bigger than our old house.  It has a 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.  The 1/2 bath converts into a storm shelter (which you need for tornadoes around here).  We have a 2 car garage and a laundry room (love not having to do laundry in the kitchen anymore, yay!).  And we also have lots of storage, so Jake can finally get himself a tool chest (he wants a large one).  So, all in all we are pretty excited about it.

Since the house is brand new we have also been without internet for a while because the right lines were not installed in our neighborhood yet.  But today they finally came to remedy that situation.  So, all those Skype Calls that we have been missing cam now happen :)

Also, we like our new neighbors (one of our neighbors is also expecting and she is due just 2 days before me!).  And our new ward is great.  Jake is working with the young men and I am working with the young women.  So we get to do a lot of our activities together.

Now as promised to many of you here are some pictures of our new house.  As you may notice there is a lot of decorating left undone.  This is because there was an incident, which will be explained in a coming post.
