I've been meaning to start a blog for us for a while, so here goes. Jake and I have one more semester left of school. I'll have my masters in chemical engineering and Jake will have his degree in construction management. Then it will all be a surprise. Jake is going to be an officer in the Corps of Engineers in the Army. So where we go is up to them.
A few of our most recent evens have been having Jake's family here for Christmas and being able to attend Jake's sister's wedding. Jackie decided to marry an outdoor enthusiast, which makes me happy. Here are some fun photos from the wedding. I especially like the one with Jake flexing :) He is my strong man.

The Happy Couple
Oh and here is one with all the sisters/sister in laws
The wedding was fun and the siblings got to do an adapted performance of the Inside Out song Peanut Butter and Jelly.
Some other highlights of the visit included eating brisket for Christmas dinner, playing Bohnanza the German bean planting game, and our white elephant dvd exchange. Jake and I ended up with Where the Red Fern Grows and All Dogs Go to Heaven. We also enjoyed spending Christmas Eve on Temple Square looking at all the lights and watching the nativity story.
My parents sent me a Raclette, which is a Swiss cheese fondue-type thing. Look it up. They are amazing. We used it to ring in the new year with our good friends the Mollers. We also played games and lit of fireworks. We even tried to light party poppers ... on accident. But it added a lot of amusement. Thanks to the Mollers for having us over.
Anyway, these posts should be getting better. This is just my first experimental one. So stay tuned for some more Monson adventures.
