French Food and a Basketball Coach

For my birthday last week Jake took me to Chef's Table, a very nice French American fusion restaurant.  I love that place and always feel spoiled when I get to go (which is only twice now).  This place eve gives you sorbet as a pallet cleanser to start out.  Jake got a pork dish with risotto and grilled corn and I got salmon with a mango chutney and lemon potatoes.  MMMmmm!  But the best part of all was the chocolate molten cake.  They baked it fresh and served it with ice cream and berries.  Let me tell you one of the best desserts we've ever had.  I'd go back just for that.  I wish I took pictures just to show how amazing it was.
Then comes our claim to fame.  As we were walking out to get our coats we saw Dave Rose.  For all of you out there who are not BYU fans that is the head basketball coach.  So anyways we were pretty excited to see him and I think the waitor was trying to push me out so I didn't make too much of a scene.  But what can I say, I'm a big basketball fan.
Also we had some friends over for my birthday on Saturday.  We planted beans.  Yes you heard it right.  Jake and I got a new game Bohnanza and you plant beans.  But before you cross that game off your list, let me tell you how fun it really is.  I'm glad I got it for Christmas.
Ok, I'm still new at this blog thing so I hope it's not too boring.  But thinking about it I thought I would do a recap for some of our trips last summer and share some pictures.

We went to Capitol Reef National Park.
There was a ice storm during the night.

We went with our friends the Terrys.

We went to Moab with some of Jake's siblings.
                                                     Canyonlands

                                                          Arches

We went to Dark Canyon near Lake Powell with the Bond Family.  It was a blast.

Jason climbing down a steep part.
A view of the canyon from the top.
                                        The blue limestone was cool.
                                      With some good swimming holes.
And a few unwanted ROUSs even though we hung our food high.

In June we went to Cancun with Jake's family.
We saw lots of these guys.

And some sweet beach views.  This is at Tulum.

                                           And played in the sand.

Yeah since uploading pictures takes so long I'll stop there.  Maybe I'll finish up the rest next post.  As you can tell I love camping.  I'm slowly convincing Jake that he loves it too :)  If you like camping as much as me and live in the Utah/Arizona area you should check out the blog I have listed on my side bar: Backcountrypost.com.  Its a pretty fun blog with some great trip reports of fun places.
