Pirpirituba

We got a chance to go visit one of Jake's mission companions, Everton, in his home town, Pirpirituba. Say that name 3 times fast. Needless to say we had a lovely visit with them in their cute country town. Everton and his family treated us to a yummy lasagna lunch. After they took us to see a view from a nearby mountain. Unfortunately the top was closed, but a worker was there and let us at least see the view from the empty market area.
After we stopped to snack on corn on the cob, corn cakes, and corn pudding. Yes, corn is a big item there and they sure know how to cook with it. Then they took us to see the Christmas lights in Bananeiras. The whole drive there was lined with banana trees and then we were met with the cutest town all dresssed up for the holidays. They even had a fun banana band statue in their city.
The town also had a beautiful church on the top of a hill. We took some time to explore it and we loved the rainbow steps too. The visit to Pirpirituba was a great way to spend a day. Thanks Everton and family!
Around home we had a couple fun events as well. Pace and I went on a walk and saw 4 iguanas. They aren't super common around here, so we enjoyed the surprise.
I also took the 4 youngest to the aquarium. And there were a few changes. They only had 1 sea turtle, but more nerf sharks. And we really loved the bird/animal exhibit that they had there as well. Grant made a friend. And we saw a boa constrictor eating a chicken....a kind of gross slow process. But it's part of a rounded education, right??
