Father's Day, a 5 year old, and a Canguru Medal

So, shortly after we got back from Canada we celebratedd Father's day in Brazil. The kid's school had fun events for Jake to go to with each of the kids individually. And then on Sunday they had a breakfast celebration. Jake is such a great dad. He loves tea parties with Jane, he is sharing his passion of models with several of the boys, and he's always there to rough house (the kids all love to yell "Jump on Dad!" and then they pile on). I am grateful for a co-parent who loves and supports the kids in every way. Needless to say we love you Jake!
In September our sweet Kai turned 5. This guy loves to learn about animals. His favorite dinosaur is the allosaurus and his favorite animal is a cow. He loves to play with his brothers, sister, and best friend Natan. He loves volunteering to wash dishes. He loves reading stories and he can write his name. We love this happy kid, who can make anyone smile.
Another highlight for our family is Pace was awarded the Brasil Canguru Matematica silver metal. It's a national math test, where they award medals for high scores. This school year has been challenging learning Portuguse and going to a new school, but this guy took a hard transition and thrived. He worked hard and used his math skills.
At home we've had a lot of fun. We tried new yummy cheeses (I love queijo de manteiga and lua cheia).
Grant created his own game
Jane is always keeping us laughing. We loved how she dilligently closed her eyes while drawing tiles during our game of pompeii.
We've been enjoying both work and school family days this month as well. Maple bear had a fun event where we made play dough, built with big blocks, played in the sand and more.
Jake had a family day at work so Jane, Kai and I went to work with him. The kids got to march with the soldiers, play on a trampoline, see military trucks, and (best part) ride on a military truck.
We've also had fun with friends. We went to a skate party and went to a new playground near us and we met up with some of Louis's friends and played.
Jake and I took our kids to a mall kids area and had a blast swimming in the biggest ball park ever. It also had a really fast slide.
And on my walks I have been enjoying beautiful flowers and I ran into this adorable tailless rodent (maybe this is just a rat here, but I thought it was cute).
So, life has been good to us this month.
