We had Batman, a dragon, and a little monster. I threw on a witch costume and Jake threw on a Pharaoh's hat, which were kind of last minute. But if you ask me we were a pretty spooky family. The boys loved Halloween and lived it up for the whole month leading up to it.
Before Halloween, one Saturday we hiked through a banyan tree paradise on the 'Ualaka'a trail. Then took in a great view of Honolulu at the Nu'uanu State Wayside. It was an easy, fun family hike and a beautiful view. We finished it all off with a picnic and a game of hide and seek.
On the first Saturday in November we decided to go sight seeing on the North Shore to see what new things we could see for ourselves. We actually decided to stop by turtle beach, and we were not disappointed. We saw quite a few turtles. Then we headed out to Turtle Bay, found a new section of beach to play in and found a driftwood swing. We then headed to Kahuku for lunch and tried the BBQ corn place there. So glad that we tried it. So ono! We ate it picnic style at Malaekehana State Rec. Area. Where we found another driftwood swing. We're suckers for swings, and the beach was lovely. We felt like we were on a little day vacation.
