A Warm Welcome

After being away from Jake for a couple of weeks I was looking forward to seeing him again.  Unfortunately, that's not who I was going home to.  He was out on FTX (field training exercises), as part of his Army training.  Even though he was gone, I was in for a good surprise.

First of all Penny was the most excited/wiggliest I have ever seen her when I came in through the door.  It just reminded me of why I love dogs so much.  Just imagine coming home to a dog this cute (okay she doesn't look that happy in the picture, its because she doesn't like the camera):

After her greeting, I was even more surprised to find the start of a scavenger hunt Jake left for me.

It started with flowers.

Led me to some random hiding places in the house.

With a few presents along the way (Jake knows I like to do sudoku).

Jake got the mug to help me fit in better with our new lifestyle.

This is actually above our fridge.  It was hard to find.

It ended with a lovely card and note. 

I was as happy as a clam after that.  The only thing that would have been better was having Jake there, but he would have been if he could have.  I'll try not to make this too sappy, but I want to say that I am so thankful to have such a thoughtful husband.  I am blessed to have him in my life.

Anyway, it was the warmest welcome home ever :)
